Oracle Cloud HCM New Hire Load Automation  

 

 

Mergers and Acquisitions are a common practice in the Business world.

Many times, Companies acquire companies and want the base HR data of the acquired entity into Oracle Cloud HCM for a base version to record the new entity data before starting on the Transactional Data in Oracle.

 

 

The Task of Loading HCM Data

There may not be any Integration (Do not need one either) and we will be provided with Employee Data in spreadsheets.

Once received, one needs to validate the raw data and do checks on the existence of relevant Job, Position and Department details etc

As a second step one needs to map the data into the existing Oracle HCM taxonomy.

And then start on the activity to Manually create HDLs to load various business components data. Which is time consuming.


HDL Automation

We can automate the HDL preparation for the business components in below steps. So it will be easy for

    • 1.     Create a BIP Data model which takes the User data in spreadsheet as source
    • 2.     Prepare DM queries to pull all the required data for a HDL
    • 3.   Add Bursting definition to place the hdl file output in the content server to be picked by Compress schedule process to trigger the load.
    • 4.     Prepare RTF template that would take data from DM and auto-creates format as HDL File for readily uploading into System

5.     Run the scheduled process to kick off Automation.

How to Run New Hire Automation Process

 

·       Click on Edit Data Model.

·       Select Excel Source Data Set available under Data Sets i.e. Left side of screen.

·       Click on Pencil icon and Upload excel sheet and select Sheet Name and click on OK.

·       Click on Data and View. If everything looks fine. Click on Save As Sample Data and Save the Data model.

·       Go to report and Schedule it to get the HDL file built readily.

·       After Scheduling go to Schedule Process available under Tools.

·       Click on Schedule New Process and mention “Compress Files and Initiate HCM Data Loader” under Name and click on OK.

·       Mention name for Content Id and click on Submit.

Oracle HCM Absence Orphan Records

Sometimes We come across a less known Error while submitting an Absence in Oracle Cloud HCM with an Error Code ANC-3405194 Likely caused when  Update of Accrual plan is done after an accrual process has already run till a date in future.
